In the real world Cerri lives in the UK and works in a
leading Cancer treatment Hospital.
Second Life has always been a fun and interesting way to let off steam
and meet people from around the world for her.
She went into fashion designing when in her first few weeks
In SL she met a lovely Avatar named Phoebe, who introduced her to building and
creating clothing using prims. Cerri said “She had the patience to teach me how
to use Photoshop and to create Images of the items I had made. 5 years later
I'm still designing and creating and loving every moment of it. Phoebe has my eternal thanks.”
Miss Mischief clothing is bright, fun, energetic and
affordable. Cerri uses beautiful, high
quality textures from some fantastic texture creators in SL and some of her own
too.
Miss Mischief design ranges include casual, office wear,
evening wear and accessories. Thereby
capturing a little something that appeals to every lady.
She is inspired by the many, many avatars across SL from the
bright, fun and energetic to the elegant and luxuriant. Cerri said “I hope that
Miss Mischief reflects that in the designs.”
She looks around RL and SL for trends. She added “With social media it's never been
easier to keep your fingers on the pulse.
There's lots of inspiration out there to keep SL fashion as varied and
interesting as it is now.”
I asked her how she feels about the arrival of mesh in
SL? She replied “Mesh has had a huge
impact on SL fashion and with the introduction of alpha layers and materials,
appliers etc. designing possibilities are almost endless. Mesh has made clothing highly detailed
compared with clothing layers. Though I
must say, Flexi- prims still look fabulous and when combined with a mesh model
the effect can be gorgeous.”
She loves seeing her creations being worn. She said “Every time I see one I look twice,
to me each design looks different on another avatar. I love to see the
accessories, the hairstyle and shoes they add to the outfit, it inspires me to
create more.”
I asked her what advice she would give to someone interested
in getting into the SL fashion design business?
She replied “There's lots of avenues to investigate if you are
interested in creating designs. There
are numerous online tutorials that have detailed step-by-step
instructions. Be creative, have fun and
keep at it. Don't be afraid to ask
others for help and advice, there are many avatars out there that are more than
happy to help a fellow designer.”
Her favourite design is actually one of her first designs
"Ballerina Kitty Kit". She and
her friend Phoebe opened their first store together “Kitty Kit" and this
outfit was one of the more popular designs.
The design has a flexi-prim tutu, matching clothing layer top, cute
kitty ears, twitching kitty tail with tail talk, little kitty legwarmers and
feet and a sweet little collar. She said “I totally enjoyed making the outfit
and strutting around in it afterwards.”
In conclusion Cerri said “I'm looking forward to introducing
more accessories to Miss Mischief, including jewellery and I'm constantly
adding new outfits to the range. I look
forward to opening new satellite stores around SL and I’m very proud that one
of my first is at Sweethearts.”
